Breightmet knife and cleaver man is tagged
A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been electronically tagged after he was caught in the street with a meat cleaver and lock knife.
Bolton magistrates heard how John Garry was found with the weapons in Winchester Way on August 7.
He pleaded guilty to possessing them in public and was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks.
Magistrates also ordered Garry, of Withins Lane, Breightmet, to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
The cleaver will be destroyed.
