A MAN accused of murdering an 87-year-old grandfather in his own home in Daubhill will appear in court on Monday.
Daniel Crompton, aged 24, of no fixed address, is charged with robbing and killing Frank Worsley at his home in Longfield Road, Daubhill, on August 3.
A preliminary hearing is due to take place at Manchester Crown Court after unsuccessful attempts to produce him at Bolton Magistrates Court yesterday.
Mr Worsley died in hospital on August 20, more than two weeks after Crompton is accused of breaking into his home and attacking him.
Crompton, who has been remanded in custody, was charged with his murder on September 5, after initially being charged with robbery.
He also now faces a charge for burgling a home in St Helens Road, Daubhill, on August 3.
