FORMER Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan will give evidence on behalf of former co-star Bill Roache at his trial.
The 23-year-old, who played Rosie Webster for 12 years, will join Anne Kirkbride, who plays Roache’s on-screen wife Deirdre, in supporting Roache.
The 81-year-old, who has played Ken Barlow since the soap’s first episode in 1960, is due to stand trial in January after pleading not guilty to seven charges, including raping a 15-year-old girl and indecently assaulting four other youngsters.
It is not the first time Helen has declared her allegiance to Roache. In May, she posted on her Twitter page: “I’ve always had respect for and I believe him to be innocent.”
