A 24-YEAR-OLD man charged with the murder of an 87-year-old pensioner has had his case committed to Manchester Crown Court.
Daniel John Crompton, of no fixed address, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court charged with the murder of Frank Worsley, of Longfield Road, Daubhill.
Appearing in a grey athletic top and trousers, Crompton, spoke only to confirm his name.
He is also charged with a burglary of a separate house in St Helens Road, between August 2 and August 3.
Mr Worsley, suffered a stroke and a bleed to the brain when he was attacked in his home at about 12.40am on August 3.
He died in the Royal Bolton Hospital on August 20.
Crompton was committed to appear at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square, this morning.
