BOLTON is playing its part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning — with events being held across the town.
Among those hosting a coffee morning on September 27 are the Mayor of Bolton and the Marks and Spencer cafe.
There will be more than 5,000 events across Greater Manchester — to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support — and people can still organise their own coffee morning.
The fundraising manager for Bolton, Rose Tipton, said: “We are really grateful to everyone who has signed up to hold a coffee morning for Macmillan so far.
“Their support is very much appreciated and we hope they have a fantastic time at their event.
“We want people to know there is still time to sign up to hold a coffee morning and help us raise more money than ever before.
“We want to make sure no one in Bolton has to face cancer alone but we can't do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.”
The charity also emphasise that events do not have to be held on September 27.
At the Marks and Spencer cafe in Bolton town centre, customers can support the campaign by buying from a range of coffees, sandwiches and cakes.
Up to 10p from each item bought will be donated to Macmillan.
In addition, 20p from the sale of each Victoria sandwich in the food hall and 50p from every coffee will go to Macmillan.
The Mayor of Bolton Cllr Colin Shaw will also host a coffee morning on September 27.
The event takes place in Bolton Town Hall at the mayor’s parlour.
People are invited to enjoy coffee and cakes between 10.30 and noon.
A coffee and a cake will cost £1.50 and all funds will be donated to Macmillan.
