MAY Beecham is still “full of life” as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Later in life, she worked as a playground assistant.
She was also a pub pianist for many years, regularly entertaining the locals with singalongs at the Peel Park Hotel.
She still gets out to shop for herself once a week at the local Co-op and is a popular member of her local community.
Iris Slingsby, a long-time friend and neighbour of Mrs Beecham, said: “She is a fun loving and cheerful friend to lots of people.
“She loves her cat, Lady, and she never forgets to send cards to people on birthdays and special occasions.
“If you ask her the secret to a long life, she’d probably say a little drop of whisky in the odd cup of tea.”
May marked her centenary with a gathering of friends at the East Ward Labour Club in Undercliffe, Bradford.
