Robber threatened to cut woman's throat
A ROBBER threatened to cut a woman’s throat as she withdrew cash.
The 31-year-old victim was withdrawing cash from Yorkshire Bank in Bradshawgate when a man put his arm around her neck and snatched the money from the machine.
He also demanded she withdrew another £10, telling her he had a knife.
She withdrew the money and was then dragged into a side street where he said “if you tell anyone I will slit your throat”.
The crime happened between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Saturday, September 14.
Det Sgt Patrick Wood, said: “The offender made some very chilling threats to the victim, who is understandably distraught by what has happened.
“This happened on a Saturday evening when the area would have been teeming with people and I would urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.
“We have recovered CCTV images of the suspect so I want people to look closely at this and if they recognise the person we are trying to identify to please call the police.
“I also want to appeal directly to this person: if you recognise yourself from the image, come forward and talk to us now as it will only be a matter of time before we come for you.
“Likewise, if any of his friends or associates recognise him they need to do the right thing and tell us who he is.”
The man was white, 5ft 9in tall, medium build with broad shoulders and short, dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and ran off after the robbery.
