A SENIOR police officer has warned anyone helping a suspected armed robber will be charged.

Lee James Seddon, aged 36, who has links to Bolton, is wanted in connection with a robbery in Preston on June 12 at Brookfield Newsagents in Preston, in which a gang of men stole £70,000 during the raid.

A security guard was threatened by three men wearing balaclavas, with one of the men brandishing a machete.

Despite a Crimewatch appeal earlier this month, Seddon is still wanted by police.

Det Sgt Martin Pearson, from Lancashire Constabulary, said: “Seddon originally hails from the Salford area and is known to have a number of associates who reside there.

“We strongly believe Seddon is continuing to commit offences across the country while he is wanted and would appeal to anybody that has any information about his current whereabouts to contact Lancashire Police immediately.

“We believe he is still in the Manchester area and it is likely that somebody is providing him with somewhere to stay. I would remind people that harbouring somebody that is wanted is a criminal offence and if anybody knows where Seddon is they should contact police.

“Seddon should not be approached by members of the public.”

Seddon is described as being 5ft 10 ins tall, blue eyes, a slim build and has a one-inch scar across his left eyebrow.

People with information about his whereabouts can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
