Westhoughton pub demolition plans sent to council - weeks after work began

The site of the pub in Chorley Road will soon house an apartment block and four semi-detached houses.
Platinum Projects Europe Limited (PPE) was told to stop demolition work in mid-September by Bolton Council as they had not received prior notification.
Its building control department had been notified, but an administrative error from PPE meant the council was not given their customary 28 days’ notice to consider the implications.
Work has continued as the council decided the site had become too unsafe for the building to be left in the state it was in.
The structure of the pub has almost totally been demolished, and PPE finally submitted official notification to the council last week.
