Traffic chaos across Bolton after crash on M60 causes severe delays for commuters
A CRASH on the M60 anticlockwise between junction 13 for Worsley and junction 12 for the Eccles Interchange has caused severe delays of about 50 minutes for commuters this morning.
The accident, which involved two cars and a lorry, happened at 6.30am and blocked two lanes after oil spilled across the road and emergency services had to remove a badly damaged car.
Highways Agency traffic officers said they have cleared the scene and all lanes were open by 8.30am but traffic is still queuing and causing long delays.
The accident caused knock-on delays and queueing traffic on the A666 St Peter’s Way, the M61 to junction 5 at Westhoughton and Bolton Road between Bury and Bolton, as well as several other main roads in and around Bolton.
