AMERICAN rap star Coolio has surprised a Bolton student and her friends for a second time.

Claudia Doherty, aged 21, from Westhoughton, and her seven housemates became an internet sensation when Coolio offered to cook for them at their Preston home last week. The video of Coolio singing his biggest hit Gangsta’s Paradise with the students is now approaching two million hits on YouTube.

After hearing about the meeting becoming an internet craze, Coolio decided to return to Preston on Saturday, where he was reunited with the UCLAN students. The 50-year-old performed again at the city’s Ships and Giggles and MACs bar.

Coolio said: “It was just a spur of the moment thing. I went to their house and cooked, bro. They put it on YouTube, I didn’t expect it. I saw a lot of comments saying ‘he set that up, it was contrived’, but it really wasn’t. It was totally random. I hadn’t expected to come back.

“I thought I would be on my way home now.”

The friends joined Coolio on stage at Ships and Giggles. The law masters student will be returning to the bar tonight with her friends to see Jazzy Jeff.
