STAFF shortages are also said to be adding to the growing pressures on paramedics in Bolton.
The anonymous staff member claimed the shortage of paramedics at NWAS meant they have less time to carry out the safety checks during shift hand-overs.
The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust — which runs the service in Bolton — admitted there have been about 70 vacancies for paramedics in Greater Manchester.
The trust says it has launched a recruitment drive to tackle the problem and bring vacancies down to 30 by December.
A spokesman said: “The trust has been actively recruiting for registered paramedics, as we have had areas with a number of vacancies, with Bolton having the least number of vacancies in the Greater Manchester area. At present, the Trust has approximately 70 vacancies in the county.
“The recruitment drive we have undertaken has resulted in an expected vacancy figure of less than 30 in the county by December and the trust will continue to recruit to fill those.”
