School dinner lady's third day in hospital after stabbing
A SCHOOL dinner lady is still in hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds in a frenzied knife attack in a Farnworth street.
The woman was stabbed in the back six times by a man who was known to her.
She did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The man, thought to be her partner, then turned the knife on himself.
The dinner lady is believed to have been waiting for a bus when the attack happened.
She stumbled across the road to a colleague’s home where she received help. She was then airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital.
The incident happened in Highfield Road, Farnworth, at 2.40pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said no charges have yet been brought against the suspect.
