CHILDREN from Kearsley West Primary School were in high spirits as they watched hundreds of red balloons float into the sky.
The youngsters were taking part in a balloon race designed to aid geography skills and raise funds for school at the same time.
Headteacher Lesley Cooper said the final destination of the balloons would be shown on a map to the children to help their understanding of geography.
There are prizes for the children whose balloons get the furthest from the Primrose Street school.
