THESE shoppers had to battle the rain and wind in Bolton town centre.
Many people were caught out by the sudden downpours and things are unlikely to improve much over the next week.
But although the Met Office is predicting more “typically autumnal weather” for the weekend in Bolton, the temperatures are likely to be higher than average for the time of year.
Temperatures are expected to be a couple of degrees above average — although feeling a little cooler because of the rain — and today it is going to be windy with gusts reaching around 30 mph.
Tomorrow it will be raining in the morning and there will be overnight temperatures of around 12C.
While Saturday is going to be a fairly wet day, said Met Office spokesman Nicola Maxey, Sunday is expected to be a little better.
“It is going to be cloudy in the morning but there could be rain in the afternoon.
“Unfortunately, for next week, it’s much of the same — grey autumnal weather with some sunny spells,” she said.
