BOLTON North East MP David Crausby took to the streets for his first day of action on energy prices.
He has launched a petition asking David Cameron to match Labour Leader Ed Miliband’s pledge to freeze gas and electricity bills until 2017. The freeze would save the average family £120 and the average small business £1,800, he says.
Mr Crausby and supporters were in Bromley Cross to talk to residents about the campaign, as well as collecting signatures for a petition.
He said: “Energy bills have gone up by £300 since the last election, but wages are not keeping pace. This means more people will be struggling to heat their homes.
“Freezing energy bills will make a big difference for local families and businesses and it is good to see so many showing their support for this plan.”
Mr Crausby is in Astley Bridge on Saturday and collecting signatures outside Asda on Moss Bank Way. People can also sign the petition at davidcrausby.co.uk
