Search for singers to join Bolton Cancer Voices' night of entertainment
A CHOIR for people affected by cancer continues to search for members to join them for a Christmas concert.
Bolton Cancer Voices’ Jingle Bell Sing-A-Long concert at Victoria Hall in Knowsley Street Bolton on Saturday, December 7, will also feature Besses o’ th’ Barn Band and guest compere Dr Kevin Jones, a consultant chest physician at the Royal Bolton Hospital and after dinner speaker.
Professionals and any cancer patients or cancer survivors are encouraged to take part in the event. Those interested must be able to attend dress rehearsals on each Monday leading up to the concert from Monday, November 11. Rehearsals take place at the Friends’ Meeting House in Silverwell Street, Bolton from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
They must also be able to attend a dress rehearsal from 10am until 1pm on the day of the concert.
Karen Elliot, chairman of Bolton Cancer Voices, said: “We really want to bring everyone together in a great night of festive entertainment. Hopefully there are lots of healthcare professionals across the region that love singing and will be keen to share in this wonderful event; we sincerely hope they won’t be shy in coming forward. It would also be fantastic to hear from more cancer patients and cancer survivors; everyone will be made most welcome.
“The musical numbers selected to be performed by the massed choir are in unison so no one should be put off by their lack of experience; participants don’t need to be able to read music, there are no auditions and no fees to worry about.”
Tickets for Jingle Bell Sing-A-Long are available from the Albert Halls Box Office on 01204 334400 or via alberthalls-bolton.co.uk priced £5.
