SHOPPERS learned how they could slash their energy bills when Mr Toast came to town.
The character was at Morrisons, in Mornington Road.
He was with a team of experts who told people about the potential savings they can make as part of the Get Me Toasty scheme.
Under the scheme, Greater Manchester councils are working with three approved installers — Dyson Energy Services, Carillion and Forrest — to make homes more efficient by replacing boilers and providing new loft and cavity wall installation.
Home owners and private tenants living in certain post code areas or those claiming certain benefits may be able to qualify for the work at no cost. Wherever possible, the team will make appointments for experts to visit residents’ homes and carry out an assessment.
Bolton North East MP, David Crausby, has launched a petition calling for Prime Minister, David Cameron to freeze energy prices until 2017. Visit getmetoasty.com or call 0800 009 3363 to find out whether you are eligible for the scheme and to arrange a free no obligation survey.
