THESE are the armed robbers who carried out a terrifying shop raid.
The robbery took place at the Co-op in Ainsworth Lane, Tonge Moor, on Friday, October 18.
One of the raiders was brandishing a large kitchen knife and the other had a claw hammer.
They threatened staff in the store at about 10pm before forcing open the till and stealing £100 before fleeing.
No-one was hurt and no arrests have been made.
Police have already appealed to The Bolton News readers for information and now officers have issued pictures of the wanted men.
Det Con Nick Gibson, from Bolton North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The robbery was a terrifying incident for the staff involved and took place while customers were in the store, going about their daily business.
“I would urge any members of the public who may have any information in relation to this incident to contact police.
“I am also appealing to the community to look closely at the CCTV images to see if they recognise the offenders.”
The first robber is described as black, between 5ft 10ins tall and 6ft tall. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, dark bottoms and dark coloured trainers with a light coloured sole or rim.
He had a mouth mask on and was described as having a “posh accent” by a witness. The knife he was holding had a silver blade about 12 inches long and two inches wide.
The second man was black, also between 5ft 10ins tall and 6ft tall. He was wearing a dark coloured top with a zip up the front, light coloured tracksuit bottoms with a single line running up each leg and dark coloured footwear. He was also wearing a white face covering, similar to the other robber. He is believed to have been holding a claw hammer.
Before the robbery a witness saw two men in a back street near the shop.
A number of customers were in the store and have been helping police with their investigation.
Detectives believe the crime might be linked to a robbery that took place at the Co-op in Bury Road, Breightmet, on September 12.
