PENSIONERS are being given the chance to express their artistic side.
Age UK has launched classes every Friday morning for budding artists, which specialises in both watercolours and drawings.
Art tutor, Ann Bickerstaffe, aged 53, said: “I enjoy teaching it. Now they’re retired they look forward to doing something they didn’t have the time to do before.
“One or two are hard of hearing so I give them photocopies of instructions.
“A lot of them have said it’s not just doing the art, but it’s getting together that they enjoy, getting together with people like themselves.
“Sometimes they talk more than they paint.”
The classes cost £3, which is put towards the cost of the materials.
