A HORWICH singer/ songwriter and her friends are to take to the stage in memory of three members of her family who have all died of cancer.
Linda Jennings and Alan Drury — the husband of her cousin Angela who died of bowel cancer aged 45 — have organised the gig at Horwich RMI Club, on Friday.
Ms Jennings, aged 46, recently lost her father John Birchall, aged 83, to lung cancer and mother Joan, 81, to bladder cancer.
Money raised from the event will be donated to Christie Hospital in Manchester and Bolton Hospice, where her Mrs Drury and the Birchall couple were all treated.
“A hundred per cent of the money raised will go to those causes. We will not be taking anything for expenses,” said Ms Jennings. “We feel strongly that we want to raise money in their memory. Angela was a music lover and my mother and father were an enormous support to me and my son, Gabriel.”
Mr Drury, who is also a keyboard player, will also feature in the concert which also includes Ad Astra and Last Chance Rock Gods.
The £6 tickets also include pasty (meat and potato or cheese), a raffle and auction.
Tickets are available from Greeleys Butchers and the Salad Bowl, both in Winter Hey Lane, Horwich, or Horwich RMI Club.
The event starts at 7.30pm.
