Pensioner injured in bus crash in 'stable condition'
A PENSIONER who was hit by a bus at Bolton Bus Station is in a stable condition in hospital.
The 90-year-old woman was hit by a number 36 bus on Saturday as she was crossing Black Horse Street near Bolton Bus Station at 12.35pm.
The woman is thought to have been temporarily wedged between the bus and a safety barrier but managed to free herself.
She suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Her conditon was initially described as being critical but she is now said to be in a stable condition, police said.
The area was cordoned off by police for about an hour while they investigated the circumstances of the accident.
