A DJ helped raise smiles and more than £1,000 for Help For Heroes at a fundraising night.
Bill Smethurst, aged 51, from Farnworth, organised a ladies night at the Farnworth and District Veterans Club in Brackley Street.
The sell-out event featured a ‘Full Monty’ performance and disco, attracting 330 people, and a total of £1,011 was raised on the night.
Mr Smethurst said: “It was a massive success. My phone’s never stopped going off — the feedback’s been very positive.
“All the DJs, all the staff – everyone’s put in the time and effort.
“It shows how generous people can be.”
Another ladies night is planned at the club on Friday, December 13. Tickets for the over-18s event, running from 7pm to midnight, are still available and cost £5 each. To buy or find out more, call Mr Smethurst on 07906879298.
