8:19pm

We're back into pension funds - turns out Greater. Manchester Pension Funds has investment in British Gas too, acc to Cllr Cox. He's done his homework ahead of tonight's meeting

Public gallery is v.quiet now - mainly because the unions have left. They were here to campaign against the expected £63m cuts to Bolton council's budget between 2015-18. There was nothing about the budget on the agenda

7:43pm

Cllr Allen and Cllr Peacock backing the motion - think this one will go through no problem, once everyone has had their say!

Shouts of 'shame on you' as Cllr Cox explains how Bolton Council, through the Greater Manchester Pension Fund, has investments in tobacco companies including those that make Camel cigarettes

7:26pm

It's worth taking this time that there's a lot of members wearing fake moustaches in the chamber tonight - they're showing their solidarity to Cllr Morgan and Cllr John Walsh who have carried on their Movember effort until tonight. They're a jovial bunches, our councillors.

Well, well, that was a very productive and useful meeting of the full council.
Does it not make every citizen proud to know that the expenses we have just funded have made Bolton a better, greater place!

"The motion is implying we are a bit bent in plannning "-A bit bent in planning " is an understatement. Perhaps, grossly bent in planning would have been more appropriate. Councillor Morris should be invited to explain how planning permission has been obtained for some of the, large, out of character extensions and re-builds that are currently being carried out on the Ladybridge estate. Councillor Morris is, I understand, a resident on that estate, so I would expect him to have been aware how difficult it was, a short while ago, to obtain planning permission for a modest conservatory etc. Regarding the coverage of the so called "Council Meeting" it would appear that they all had a jolly fun time with their false moustaches, at public expense, but as expected achieved nothing which deserves any degree of merit.
