BETTING shop staff put their faith in a RAF gunner’s charity challenge, sponsoring him £500.
Ben Myatt, from Farnworth, raced around Europe in an “old banger” car with three friends to raise money for the Wings Appeal, which supports former RAF personnel and their families.
He approached Ladbrokes in Higher Market Street, Farnworth, to ask for donations through its community charity scheme.
Managers Ged Turley and Sharleigh Wood presented him with a cheque.
Ladbrokes manager Jo Pullar said: “We have known Ben for years, and he was over the moon with the donation.
“With his fundraiser being such a good thing, especially for the forces, it was a no-brainer for the company to support him straight away.”
