ST James’ High School collected enough food donations for nearly 2,500 meals for disadvantaged people.
Staff and pupils from the school in Farnworth collected 2,428 items for Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank over a six-week period.
Paul Watson, a science teacher at the school, said: “We need to support people less fortunate than ourselves, not just as a school but as a community.
“I was pleased that everyone got involved and went out of their way for a good cause.”
The school finished off its project with a non-uniform day, raising a further £728 for the food bank.
