POP star Danny Jones is coming home for Christmas — and he may even find time to take a ride on Bolton’s giant ferris wheel.

The Bromley Cross lad, aged 27, was at Manchester’s Phones4u Arena this week ahead of a gig there next May.

The former Thornleigh School pupil, who is set to marry fiancée Georgia Horsley, is planning to visit home before McBusted’s bumper year gets under way.

He said: “I went back for my grandad’s funeral, not the best time. He died in February so I went up for that. Then I went home re-open my mum’s shop — Xcel Hair Salon at Last Drop Village.

“And I’m going to be up there at Christmas, I’m there for my nan’s 90th and then I’m bringing them all down to see me.”

Danny received an offer on Twitter from Bolton Council to take a ride on the 100ft wheel in Victoria Square and he eagerly replied: “If I'm home any time soon, I would love to.”

He even mentioned Bolton’s giant ferris wheel on Thursday’s Granada Reports.

Busted first hit the charts in 2002 while Danny’s group McFly followed in 2004 and now the pair have merged to create a pop supergroup.

News that Danny, his McFly bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, along with Busted’s James Bourne and Matt Willis, were joining forces sent fans into a frenzy.

Bolton Wanderers fan Danny added: “I was the last to know!”

James, aged 30, said: “I heard grumblings of it directly after McFly’s show in Manchester at the Apollo.

“I was visiting them and I went on stage to sing a few songs and it went down surprisingly well.”

Tom, aged 28, who became an internet sensation after uploading a video of his wedding speech to YouTube last year, said: “The seed of the idea was planted in Manchester in May.

“I think we were all really surprised at how incredible the crowd’s reaction was to James singing and how amazing it was seeing James and hearing him singing the Busted songs again.”

With most of the lads now avid Twitter users, they have been making the most of social media to reconnect with old fans and reach new ones.

They snapped up tickets in their droves when they went on sale and more dates have since been added to their UK tour in 2014, which calls in at the Phones 4u Arena on May 9, 10 and 11.

Together Busted and McFly have sold 15 million records worldwide and chalked up 14 number ones, 20 top three singles and 27 top ten singles.

Tickets are on sale now and cost £39.50, plus booking fee, visit livenation.co.uk or ticketmaster.co.uk.
