A 57-year-old-man was airlifted to hospital after collapsing in Rivington.
The North West Air Ambulance received a call at about 1.45pm after the man who had been walking in Rivington, collapsed near the pigeon tower.
He had been suffering from a sudden spell of dizziness.
Also in attendance at the scene were the North West Ambulance service and Bolton Mountain Rescue Team who helped with the operation.
The man was flown to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for further assessment but his condition was not believed to be serious.
