FIREFIGHTERS have visited an old people’s home in Horwich to highlight fire risks after a spate of calls.

Crews had been callled to Flockton Court in Julia Street several times in quick succession to tackle fires sparked by elderly people leaving food unattended.

Watch manager Craig Lunt was among the firefighters to spread the message “stay safe this winter” to residents.
