ARMED robbers threatened staff at a bookmakers with baseball bats before making off with hundreds of pounds.
Two men, one wielding a baseball bat, raided Betfred in Market Street, Westhoughton, at 6.40pm on Saturday.
The robbers threatened staff before fleeing on foot with cash.
No arrests have been made.
Cllr Christopher Peacock, who represents Westhoughton North and Chew Moor on Bolton Council, said: “Any crime within our town is a concern to us all. We will be working with our local neighbourhood policing team to help try to catch the individuals involved and I would urge anyone who may have any information to contact the police.”
Police have issued a description of one of the men. He is described as being 6ft tall, he was wearing a grey hooded top, had a balaclava covering his face.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
