THE Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Christine Root, has handed over the keys for the Horwich Heritage Centre to Horwich Heritage Society.
Cllr Root also signed a new lease for the continued use of the centre in Beaumont Road. The keys were received by Stuart Whittle, society chairman.
The signing represents the continuation of the lease and Mr Whittle handed over a cheque to the town council.
The centre has been in its current premises for more than seven years and is a popular facility for local people and people from further afield who are keen to explore the history of the town.
The centre is open Monday to Friday, from 2pm to 4pm, and on Saturdays from 10am until 12.30pm.
