A LORRY driver accused of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl denied being obsessed with pornography involving young girls in school uniform.
Wayne Gibbons, aged 43, of Royston Avenue, Bolton, told a court the allegations had left him “absolutely devastated”.
Gibbons denies inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl three times in quick succession in the early hours of January 30, 2013.
He is alleged to have committed the offences at about 1.30am on January 30 and was arrested at Rivington Services on the M61, while working, at 2.15pm the same day.
He was questioned over an alleged “obsession” with porn, in particular young girls wearing uniforms.
When the specifics of the charges were outlined to him by prosecution barrister Paul O’Brien, he repeatedly said: “I have not done this. This is not true.”
About the allegations, he said: “I am absolutely devastated.
“I am not saying she is being dishonest, just that she is mistaken or confused. I have not touched her.”
Gibbons admitted downloading certain types of pornography but denied that he was obsessed with it.
The trial continues with a verdict expected today.
