AN arsonist was jailed for 20 weeks by magistrates after he admitted setting fire to a fence, wheelie bins and a Fiat Punto car.

Darren Lomax, aged 38, of Broad o’th Lane, Astley Bridge, caused £700 of damage to Kelly Alison’s property when he started the blaze in Wallbrook Grove, Farnworth, on December 5.

Lomax was jailed for 12 weeks for the arson and received a further eight weeks for incurring a previously imposed suspended sentence.

A restraining order to run until January 12, 2016, was also made preventing Lomax from contacting Ms Alison or visiting an address in Wallbrook Grove, Farnworth
