A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with the Deane robbery spree.

Police arrested a second suspect this evening after a wave of knife robberies in and around Deane Church Lane, Deane.

The crimes started on Thursday and went on until Sunday.

A woman was also attacked from behind in St Helens Road, Daubhill, this afternoon but police did not say whether it was linked to the other incidents.

The woman, in her 50s, was not seriously injured but was said to be suffering from shock.

Robberies have been carried out at nearby KC Top Shop newsagents in Deane Church Lane, Deane, robberies at Talking Heads in Deane and at Cabello for Hair in Wigan Road.

Two street robberies have also taken place in the area, one in the early morning on Thursday and one on Saturday evening.

The arrest is thought to have taken place at about 5pm this evening when witnesses reported police swarming into Back Deane Church Lane where a man was seen being arrested.

Another suspect, a man, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of the robberies yesterday morning. He was released on bail.

Dumb a** thieves. I don't think I've ever heard of a serial armed robber that hasn't been caught, and to think these morons get respect in prison!

They need help, leave them a rope and bottle of strong tablets that cause a very slow death, that way their friends get time to say goodbyes, These are someones kids, bet their parents are ashamed to the core. The legal system needs to take a stand, send them to a Thailand jail, they wont re offend

I doubt their parents, or parent, would be ashamed of them. Most likely their background and parent(s) are a good reason why they are such low level, spineless and thieving scum.

I'd help, make no bones about that! I would more than welcome being appointed the chief hangman of Bolton. If it were up to me in these kind of offences it would be the left hand off and the right foot. Next offence would be to lob-off the remaining hand and foot. As for a third offence, and god knows they are that thick they would think they could get away with it, some good quality and well waxed rope around their useless neck.

The law is completely ineffective. WTF is the first spineless, workshy buffoon doing out on bail?
