MCFLY’S Danny is not the only member of the Jones family to impress with their vocal talents.

The pop star’s sister Vicky, from Bromley Cross, appeared on Saturday night’s episode of The Voice UK, and was delighted to land a place on Sir Tom Jones’s team after impressing with her rendition of Bon Jovi’s Bed of Roses at the show’s blind auditions.

And the achievement was even more special as the 29-year-old knows she gained her place due to her own talent and not her pop star connections.

She said: “For me, it was a brilliant opportunity. It gave me the chance to prove to myself that I was good enough to go through, despite Danny being my brother.”

The pair are extremely close, and the former Thornleigh Salesian College pupil is immensely proud of Danny’s achieve-ments with McFly and now pop supergroup McBusted.

The show’s coaches — Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Ricky Wilson — were only told of her famous connections after Kylie and Sir Tom turned their chairs in the last few seconds to offer her a place on their teams.

She said: “I used to watch the American series, my friend lived in Philadelphia and she would send it over for me. I think that was what attracted me to the show.

“I’m always going to have that connection and I can’t hide that he’s my brother. We’re very close and I wouldn’t want to.”

When they were growing up, the pair would perform at the Buskers Ball open mic nights across Bolton, and it has always been the fashion PR’s dream to become a recording artist.

When faced with choosing a place on Aussie superstar Kylie’s team or Sir Tom’s, Kylie told her: “You totally nailed it,” but she plumped for the Welsh legend who told her: “I think you are a great singer and I think we could work great together.” Vicky said: “I think you kind of mentally prepare yourself for that decision but until it actually happens, you just don’t know. They say how they’re going to help you.

“I did think that Tom would be really good for me because I thought he would pick amazing songs for me.

“I’m a classic, strong, belting it out singer. I thought that he would get my vocals.”

Speaking of the show’s coaches, Vicky added: “They’re amazing, the amount of awards Kylie has won is ridiculous.

“Obviously Tom is a legend. The Kaiser Chiefs, I’ve been to see them so, for me that was amazing that Ricky Wilson was there.

“And Will is a global superstar. I was privileged to sing for them.”
