THEATRE productions from London, opera from New York and Russian ballet will be beamed live to a Bolton cinema.

Cineworld Bolton, on Eagley Brook Way, The Valley, is screening a host of live and special events throughout the year.

Manager Stephen Halvorsen said: “We are delighted to be able to continue our successful run of live events and special screenings into 2014.

“We will be bringing Bolton audiences live screenings from the National Theatre, the Bolshoi Ballet and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

“Live opera this year comes from the Met Opera in New York, the English National Opera and London’s Royal Opera House.

“We have added events from the West End to our slate this year too, as Noël Coward’s Private Lives screens next month. I am particularly looking forward to the National Theatre’s production of War Horse in February and King Lear directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes, in May.”

Tomorrow evening will see Coriolanus — William Shakespeare’s searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge — screened live from Donmar Warehouse Theatre, Covent Garden.

The production stars Thor and The Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston in the title role and The League Of Gentlemen writer and performer Mark Gatiss as Menenius.

On Sunday, renowned classical ballet company, the Bolshoi Ballet, can be seen performing Lost Illusions — a tantalising story of passion, ambition and disappointment.

On Thursday, February 6, Noël Coward’s comedy Private Lives will be staged, captured in London’s West End at the Gielgud Theatre, as part of CinemaLive and Digital Theatre’s West End series.

There will also be productions from New York-based Met Opera Live, London’s Royal Opera and English National Opera Live.

On Thursday, February 27, National Theatre Live will present War Horse, the international hit play based on Michael Morpurgo’s beloved novel which brings life-sized puppet horses to vivid life on stage.

There will also be performances by Royal Ballet and, from May, RSC Live from Stratford-upon-Avon will see a number of Shakespeare plays staged.
