AN exhibition celebrating the work of Samuel Crompton was showcased in the town centre.
Bolton Documentary Photography arranged the exhibition of photographs documenting the 260th anniversary of the town’s favourite son.
The photography group has created an exhibition, which was shown in Crompton Place, showing images of the celebrations being carried out during the land mark year.
The anniversary has been marked with a historic walk around the Crompton Trail, a Blue Badge guide around five local landmarks which featured in the life of the famous Boltonian.
An exhibition at Bolton Library also paid tribute to his life along with a home-made in Bolton day to mark locally-made work and inventions.
Carol singing took place at Hall i’th’ Wood where Crompton lived and worked on his mule.
