GLAMOROUS actress Chelsee Healey and a host of charity supporters attended an event to help former Bolton Wanderers star Gary Parkinson.

The Waterloo Road star visited Momentum Restaurant and Lounge in Westhoughton for the fundraiser, organised by Lisa Forshaw and Claire Wilkins, from DLC Lifestyle Management.

The event raised money for the Gary Parkinson Trust, in aid of the Bolton Wanderers legend who has locked-in syndrome, and Grow 4 Joe, set up following Tranmere Rovers player Joe Thompson’s diagnosis with Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Mr Thompson was among 100 guests, including Cllr Christopher Peacock, Town Mayor of Westhoughton, Mr Parkinson’s wife Debbie, former football referee Mark Halsey, Debbie Halls-Evans, who is currently appearing on Channel 4 show The Taste, Bolton jeweller Lauren Ashley and singer Cammie Carter.

Mrs Forshaw said: “The day was all for Gary Parkinson and Grow 4 Joe. It was at our local restaurant.

“Chelsee Healey came to support as she always does. It was a brilliant day.”

A raffle and auction were also held and guests were treated to a fashion show, enjoyed food and refreshments and browsed various stalls.
