A MAN who threatened to blow his former partner’s house up and repeatedly ignored a restraining order preventing him from contacting her, has been jailed for 10 months.

At Bolton Crown Court Recorder Abigail Hudson was told how, in June last year, magistrates made an order banning Trevor Longworth from getting in touch with his former girlfriend after he was convicted of assaulting her.

But Roger Brown, prosecuting, said that on September 10, he turned up drunk at her ground-floor flat in Fernbeck Close, Kearsley, grabbed her arm through an open window and was abusive.

He was arrested but nine days later tracked her down to her sister’s house, became abusive and, going back a second time, told her: “I’m going to blow your house up and put your windows through.”

On November 19, he turned up again at her home and made threats.

Wayne Jackson, defending, said Longworth had “behaved disgracefully”, but stated that breaches of the order stemmed from him wanting contact with their baby daughter.

Longworth, aged 26, of Dyson Close, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to eight counts of breaching the restraining order.

Recorder Hudson said: “You appear to feel you are entitled to control what Miss Yates does — you are not.

“You displayed an astonishing level of arrogance.”
