FIREFIGHTERS attended five separate wheelie bin fires across the borough between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Crews were called to a bin fire in Higher Swan Lane, Great Lever, at 7.18pm on Sunday. The fire involved a quantity of rubbish.
The second was reported at 8pm on Sunday, in Queensway, Kearsley, involving a wheelie bin in the front garden of a house. Firefighters. The police were informed.
At just after 1am on Monday, a crew was called to a fire which damaged a bin at a compound in Greenroyd Avenue, Breightmet, near Bolton St Catherine’s Academy. Police were informed.
At about 2.10am yesterday, a wheelie bin fire was reported at Bankfield Street, near Deane Road, Deane.
And at 3.20am, a bin fire was reported at Watt Street, Horwich.
A fire spokesman said: “Please ensure you bring your wheelie bins inside, except when they are being collected.”
