BOLTON cook Debbie Halls-Evans has narrowly avoided being kicked off the hit TV show The Taste.

The Horwich lass was in the bottom three for the second time, with celebrity chef Nigella Lawson describing her corned-beef has as "gritty".

But Debbie, who used to run the Delicieux Cafe, at the Doffcokcer roundabout, off Chorley Old Road, will be back battling for her place in the final next week.

But after the show, internally-acclaimed chef Nigella took to social networking website, Twitter, to wish Debbie well for next week - and ask her why she had not yet managed to teach her mentor, French chef Ludo Lefebvre, to speak with a Bolton accent.

Nigella said: "Glad @MrsHallsevs lives to cook another day. But Debbie, why haven't you taught @chefludo to speak in a Bolton accent yet."

The Taste will be on Channel 4 next Tuesday at 9pm.
