AMY Reilly is hoping to inject a dose of happiness into Bolton with a new charity venture.

The 25-year-old from Moses Gate has set up the Help for Happiness project, which aims to organise various events and raise money for different charities.

The first event will be a sponsored walk on February 9 that will see Miss Reilly and nine members of her friends and family set off from Queens Park at 11am and complete a seven mile journey to the Beehive roundabout and back again.

The sponsored walk is being held in aid of Dementia Support and Dementia UK after Miss Reilly’s grandmother was diagnosed with dementia.

The team has already raised £650. Miss Reilly explained that she wants to alternate which charities she and her team will be raising money for in the future.

She added: “The idea is that with every event we will choose a new charity.

“I wanted to start with the dementia charities because with my grandma there is a personal link there.

“We have only been going for three weeks. I am studying health and social care at Bolton College and would like to be a carer, but until I qualify I want to be doing something to help people, so that is where the idea for Help for Happiness came from.”
