A 20-YEAR-OLD man involved in a head-on crash suffered deep wounds in both legs.
A Toyota Yaris and a Bentley Continental crashed in Chorley Road between Blackrod and Adlington, near the Cherry Tree Pub, at about 4.35pm on Tuesday.
The man driving the Toyota suffered deep cuts in both knees and a facial injury.
The driver of the Bentley, a 46-year-old man, believed to be from Samlesbury in Lancashire, was taken to hospital with suspected neck injuries.
The A6 was closed while debris was cleared.
Firefighters from Horwich cut the Toyota driver from the car, which was badly crushed.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 4.35pm and were on scene at 4.46pm.
"The 20-year-old male had leg and facial injuries. He had deep wounds to both knees.
"Two ambulances were sent to the scene.
"The 20-year-old was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and the other man to Chorley and District Hospital.
"Neither of the men suffered life threatening injuries.”
A police spokesman said the crash is not being investigated by GMP’s serious collision investigation unit.
Witnesses can call police on 101.
