TWO young parents have bagged jobs after taking part in a partnership between Bury College and a Bolton nursery.

Stacey McLuskie and Corrinne Usher, who both studied at Bury College, took part in a scheme with Rosehill Nursery in Manchester Road, Bolton, to help young learners with children into employment.

The women, both aged 21, have combined their studies at college with two days work experience at the nursery.

They have now been rewarded with full-time positions following the completion of their courses.

Miss Usher has combined her studies with bringing up two children, Lacey-Maye, who is aged three and attends the nursery, and five-year-old Ruby-Faye, while Miss McLuskie’s two-year-old son, Owen, also attends the nursery.

Miss Usher, from Farnworth, said: “I’ve enjoyed learning and I often refer to knowledge I learned on the course to help me in my job role. This job and my course will help me as I’ve gained lots of hands-on experience.”

Jane Morrissey, owner of Rosehill Nursery, added: “The aspiration of the young parents to improve their lives and have better outcomes for their children has resulted in commitment and success.”
