A FUGITIVE wanted in connection with a £70,000 armed robbery was arrested in a car chase across Bolton.

Lee Seddon, who has featured on a wanted appeal on BBC1’s Crimewatch, was arrested after police chased him through the streets of Bolton on Monday.

Police closed in on Seddon after they spotted his silver Vauxhall Astra Van.

He was chased through Over Hulton, Bromley Cross and Bradshaw at about 6.15pm by five police cars and the police helicopter.

Seddon, aged 36, attempted to ram two police cars with his van before running away, but he was arrested in Folds Road, near Tonge Moor.

He has been wanted by police for nearly two years after security guards were robbed by a gang of three armed men.

The guards were making a cash delivery at an ATM on June 12 at Brookfield Newsagent in Langcliffe Road, Preston.

They stole several cash cassettes before fleeing in a Mini Cooper, which was later found abandoned in Troutbeck Place — less than a mile from the newsagents.

Crimewatch appealed for Seddon’s whereabouts in September last year but he still evaded capture.

Police believed he was being harboured and warned people helping him that they would be brought before the courts.

A £25,000 reward was previously offered by Crimewatch for information leading to a conviction.

Seddon, who is said to have links to Bolton and Salford, was wanted by police in Lancashire and Cleveland.

He is now in police custody.

Two men who were involved in the robbery at Brookfield Newsagent were jailed in December after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the same incident.

Michael Bond, aged 31 of Gorsey Avenue, Manchester, was jailed for 10 years and eight months, while Robert Pinkney, aged 31, of Isis Close, Salford, was jailed for six years and eight months.

Just arrest all the baldy-men, it's always the baldies that cause all the trouble about the place.

Lock 'em up and throw away the key.
