JULIE Hilling, MP for Bolton West, has called on constituents to have regular eye tests.
Ms Hilling met Matthew Thornton, principal optometrist at Specsavers in Middlebrook, to discuss why having regular eye checks is vital in the prevention of blindness.
Ms Hilling, pictured with Mr Thornton, who is also the local optical committee chairman, said: “It was really interesting to hear much of the eye sight problems people suffer from is preventable through the early detection.
“Regular eye tests are a simple and practical way to maintain good eye health and look after your eyes.”
