THE dangers of racing and "anti-social driving" were targeted by police in major crackdown at an event at a mosque in Bolton.

The police, Bolton Council, Bolton Council of Mosques (BCOM) and the fire service are running a series of events to target bad driving after a number of serious crashes in Bolton.

The first took place yesterday in the grounds of Al Rahman Mosque in Randall Street, Great Lever.

Firefighters showed people a demonstration of cutting people out of a car and allowed people to see the effects of driving while under the influence of drugs by using a simulator.

The next event will be held at Masjid-e-noor-ul-islam in Prospect Street, Halliwell.
