THE issue of dog fouling was raised at the Kearsley area forum on Monday night.
Residents complained of dog fouling in various parts of the town, namely Pilkington Road, going onto Springfield Road.
Some claimed they had contacted the council about the issue, but with no success.
One resident said: "Dog fouling in Kearsley is horrendous. At the bottom of Pilkington Road going onto Springfield Road, you can't walk down there without getting dog mess on your feet. Something needs to be done."
Carol Cardwell, of Stoneleigh Drive, in nearby Radcliffe, said: "Where I live is rife for dog fouling.
"It's everywhere, and it's an issue for many people. It's just disgusting that people think it's OK to leave it there."
Speaking at the forum, area co-ordinator Idris Jeewa said: "The council has a zero tolerance policy towards litter."
Cllr Liam Irving added: "Dog fouling is really bad in Kearsley - a lot of people in the area are complaining to us."
Another issue raised at the forum was the traffic congestion on Lark Street, which runs alongside St Peter's C of E Primary School.
One resident said: "The traffic on Lark Street is a nightmare. Parents are always parking down here on the school run, and I counted 63 cars passing my bungalow window this morning."
Also discussed at the forum was the rebuilding of Wilson Bridge, which is weeks away from completion after planning permission was granted by Bolton Council last April.
The Kearsley area forum took place at St Peter's C of E Primary School in Alexandra Street, Farnworth.
