A BOLTON teacher has appeared at Bolton Crown Court in relation to a string of sex allegations.
Maths teacher Andrew Welsh, aged 35, was arrested after he was allegedly found in a girl’s bedroom on July 19.
He was subsequently charged with six counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 16 while being in a position of trust.
Welsh, of Highbank, Atherton, taught at a Bolton high school but was suspended from his post when the allegations, said to have been committed between May 21 and July 19 last year, came to light.
Yesterday (Friday) Welsh attended a preliminary hearing at Bolton Crown Court.and was granted bail until March 21 when he will make another appearance in court.
