A JILTED lover has been jailed for 10 weeks for setting up a profile in his ex-partner’s name on a dating website and harassing a woman on Facebook.
Ian Martindale, aged 25, was removed from the courtroom after sitting in Bolton Magistrates Court with his fingers in his ears during proceedings.
He admitted creating the profile on a dating site on December 31 last year.
He also admitted contacting a second victim, Louise Parkin, via Facebook, and staying at her home when he was banned from doing so by a restraining order imposed at Manchester Magistrates Court on September 19.
Martindale also admitted failing to surrender to custody on February 24 when he was bailed and breaching a 12-month condition discharge for theft, for which he was sentenced on September 19 last year.
He was jailed for nine weeks for creating a dating profile in the name of Kimberley Naylor, his ex-partner from Bolton, and one week for sending Ms Parkin a Facebook message. The sentences will run consecutively.
Martindale, of Kenwood Court, Stretford, was also jailed for one week for a number of other crimes, which will run concurrently to the other 10 weeks.
